The Lower Kaban embankment is rightly considered one of the main jewels of the capital of Tatarstan. It is Russia's first large-scale project of ecological rehabilitation and improvement of a water area in a megacity. The space is designed with a focus on sustainability, pedestrian comfort and the preservation of the historical heritage of old Kazan.
The area offers extensive family-friendly infrastructure: promenades, waterside amphitheatres, modern cycle lanes, floating gardens and ecological trails that introduce visitors to the unique flora and fauna of the lake.
Wooden boardwalks along the waterline where rare aquatic plants are grown, naturally purifying the water.
The central focal point with an open-air amphitheatre hosting cultural events and festivals.
Cycle lanes, workout grounds, children's playgrounds and quiet corners for leisurely walks.
The embankment is equipped with modern lighting, video surveillance and wayfinding systems. The space is fully accessible for people with limited mobility.
